Play Center
The Career Success Play Center offers a chance for our students who have children to stay in school and earn a diploma while getting help with the daily responsibilities of parenthood for a minimal charge.Although the number of teen pregnancies has dropped across the country, the goal of Career Success is to prevent teens from leaving school to care for babies, with the added bonus of offering students resources and training in early childhood development. Students who utilize the Play Center are required to participate in the training at least one class period per day and, in addition, are able to earn academic credit. The course is led by a highly qualified instructor certified in Early Childhood Development.
Preschoolers benefit from having student caregivers teach and lead creative projects during each class. The program also gives high school students an opportunity to both try on a career and to realize that parenting is a huge responsibility.
